Many will already have seen the news about an entwined Neolithic couple found near Verona in Italy, as the news media has given the story plenty of coverage. As readers of The Goddess and the Bull know, burials of individuals together have been found at Catalhoyuk, including two skulls touching foreheads and a woman cradling the plastered and painted skull of a man. But there is no doubt this is something special, no matter what the final interpretation of it turns out to be. |
